VERSION 5 RELEASES NEW SINGLE “ABSOLUTE ZERO”

“The vocals are particularly strong during the chorus, with the raw lyrics being echoed at full volume. Overall, ‘Absolute Zero’ is incredibly anthemic and you’re bound to be obsessed after just one listen.” - CelebMix

Minneapolis brothers Version 5 have released their latest electro-rock offering, the upbeat powerhouse “Absolute Zero”. The track is just a small taste of what the brothers have to offer as an innovative duo - catchy synth-based verses and an innovative combination of EDM and punk elements. The high-energy group will drop a video for “Absolute Zero” in April. About the track, the band states:

“With this single we knew we wanted to blend a forceful breakbeat that would be at home on a Prodigy record & combine it with a stadium-rock chorus. Lyrically, the song covers the loss of a loved one, or significant other, and we use the frigid isolation of space as a metaphor for that. We hope people can relate to it- we certainly can.”

Sonically, Version 5 (or [v5]) combine elements from the EDM/Electro-Punk world and the Rock/Industrial world to create something truly their own. This creates an infectious combination that is perfect for fans of Nine Inch Nails, The Prodigy, and Linkin Park. Their unique sound quickly caught the attention of multi-platinum A&R/producer Jeff Blue (Macy Gray, Linkin Park), and in 2015 they released their debut EP, co-produced by Blue. “Absolute Zero” is available NOW.

SWEDISH ROCK BAND IMMINENCE DEBUTS NEW VIDEO FOR “DIAMONDS”; NEW ALBUM, ‘THIS IS GOODBYE,’ OUT MARCH 31ST VIA SHARPTONE RECORDS

SharpTone Records’ newly signed Swedish alternative rock/metal outfit IMMINENCE, has debuted a music video today for their brand new song “Diamonds.” The track is featured on the band’s upcoming album, This Is Goodbye, that will be released on March 31st.

Pre-order the upcoming album This Is Goodbye here.

This Is Goodbye, the new album from IMMINENCE, is a colossus made out of heavyweight ingredients mixed with wide-open, heart throbbing themes. A modern approach that boldly integrates various elements from alternative/popular genres with wild emotions in sonic outbursts.

The album was primarily produced by the band’s own Eddie Berg and Harald Barrett, the main composers of the band. However, Swedish producer/songwriter Simon Peyron had a big influence and role in the process as the vocal producer of this beast of an album.

Jakob Koc, a longtime friend and graphic designer of the band, was the right person to visualize the complexity and simplicity of the vast soundscape, creating an iconic and magnetic reflection of the music and lyrical theme of This Is Goodbye. It’s a vulnerable and fierce capture of front man Eddie Berg's inner thoughts and processes.

ISLANDER DEBUT VIDEO FOR “BETTER DAY”

Speaking of the song’s meaning, frontman Mikey Carvajal asserts: "It's simple, really. The world is hurting, so we wrote an anthem for those that are hurting. ‘Better Day’ is a song of hope."

ISLANDER are currently performing to sold-out crowds on the ‘Lifelines Tour’, which features I Prevail, Wage War, and Assuming We Survive. The tour circles North America before concluding March 8 in Seattle. ISLANDER will then continue touring throughout the summer, with a major announcement to be revealed soon.

UK ROCK BAND HOLDING ABSENCE SIGNS WITH SHARPTONE RECORDS; LIMITED EDITION VINYL PICTURE DISC OUT APRIL 15TH

Despite being in existence a mere six months, Cardiff, UK rock band Holding Absence has already achieved more than many do in years, and now their unique blend of emotive post-hardcore has gained the attention of SharpTone Records (Miss May I, We Came As Romans, Don Broco, etc) who have officially signed the band to the label.

Frontman Lucas Woodland introduces the band: “We speak about who we are, who we want to be, and what we stand for. We speak about those things in great depth very often, and it’s refreshing to know that there’s not much of a limit to what we can do, and what we WANT to do. As music fans, we love listening to everything from Radiohead, to Thy Art Is Murder - so there’s a large rage of inspiration there - But I believe the real goal for us is to always write something sincere and honest, that will hopefully make people feel something. The day we stop writing true music, regardless of genre, is the day Holding Absence dies. We’re so fortunate to have found a label that believes in us as people, as well as musicians, and we’re very excited to do them proud and make something beautiful for them.”

Commenting on the “Dream of Me” single, Woodland states, “Musically we wanted to incorporate some more of our more pop and alternative influences, such as Smashing Pumpkins and My Bloody Valentine. Lyrically the track is about the loss of love, but also applicable to the loss of life too. “When you sleep forever, Dream of Me, When all is said and done, we ache in unison. Your absence, bittersweet. It lingers, always

Pre-order the limited-edition vinyl 7” picture disc, featuring both “Dream of Me” and “Permanent,” which will be released on April 15th: http://smarturl.it/HoldingAbsence

Formed in 2016, the quintet has already played shows with Being As An Ocean, Casey, Greywind, Burning Down Alaska and more, as well as headlined plenty of their own. 2017 will see the band up the ante with a touring schedule already set to make them the busiest band in the UK.

CAN’T SWIM WILL RELEASE NEW ALBUM, ‘FAIL YOU AGAIN,’ ON MARCH 10TH

New Jersey rock band Can’t Swim has announced plans to release a new album, Fail You Again, on March 10th with Pure Noise Records. Today, the band has partnered with Clrvynt.com to premiere a video for the new track, “We Won’t Sleep.” Fans can pre-order the record now at http://smarturl.it/CantSwim

“The video for “We Won't Sleep” shows a scenario that a lot of kids go through growing up. The boy character is interested in Ballet, an art form mostly dominated by women, and his struggle to be accepted by his over masculine father. The girl character wants to be a painter and follow the arts, which is also shunned by her business oriented mother. Something I too have personally dealt with, playing music has never been a lucrative endeavor and I have been told countless times to consider a “different path” in life. In the climax of the video, the parents have an epiphany realizing they should support their children which is the message I hope people take from this video.” - Chris LoPorto (vocals/guitar)

With each release, Can’t Swim continues to evolve, showcasing a level of talent and creativity that cuts through the noise and monotony. As heard on their newly released single, “We Won’t Sleep,” the band finds their groove blending alternative rock influences with an emotive sensibility. The track is a strong representation of the record’s strength and an incredible example of what fans can expect from the album.

“Fail You Again is our first full length record as a band. I think it’s a good interpretation of what we want to accomplish with our music. We recorded it all ourselves so the process felt very close to home. I’d like to think the extra work we put in really shows on the songs and people can tell how important this was to us. We looked at it as a template of sound for future releases, so we we’re sure to explore a wide array of tones and vibes throughout. It’s an honor to make music with these guys and I can’t wait for people to hear what we made.” - Chris LoPorto (vocals/guitar)

News of the upcoming album also comes with the unexpected addition of a new member for Can’t Swim. In the making of the new record, the band switched around instruments and enlisted the services for the incredibly talented drummer Andrea Morgan, who rounds out the current lineup with LoPorto (vocals/guitar), Danny Rico (guitar), Greg McDevitt (bass) and Mike Sanchez (guitar).

“Once we finished our new record, we sat in a room and started to hash out the new songs live. We quickly realized we needed a third guitar player to do these songs justice. Danny (our former drummer) was so involved in the writing and recording of the guitar parts, it made a lot of sense to have him do it. A dear friend from back home was the first we thought of for the spot. We contacted her immediately and asked her if she wanted to jam. After the first 5 minutes of playing together, my mind was completely made up. We all want the same things out of this band and all want to accomplish the same goals with our music. Other than being a fantastic drummer, she’s a lovely human being and I couldn’t be more pleased to have Andrea on board.” - Chris LoPorto (vocals/guitar)

Can’t Swim will kick off their spring tour in support of Fail You Again later this month, which will include tour dates with Set Your Goals and Four Year Strong.

MASKED INTRUDER PREMIERES NEW VIDEO FOR “FIRST STAR TONIGHT” AT PUNKTASTIC.COM

Enigmatic pop-punk misfits Masked Intruder have premiered a new video for “First Star Tonight” via Punktastic.com. The track is taken off latest EP Love and Other Crimes out via Pure Noise Records. The record is available for purchase at iTunes and at http://maskedintruder.merchnow.com/

Watch the video for “First Star Tonight” now at Punktastic.com: http://bit.ly/2jAGooN

Talking on new video vocalist Blue says:
"This video is like a public service announcement about the dangers of live music. Like, a lot of people don't realize it, but this shit is risky business. And I'm not talking about Tom Cruise movies. And, if I was talking about Tom Cruise movies, I'd be talking about Legend, cause that shit is THE BOMB. But, I'm not, so whatever. The point is, watch out!"

We shot this video at The Frequency in Madison Wisconsin, which is where we played our first show ever of all time! The show depicted in this video seems like it would be our last show ever of all time. It's just a video, though, so chill. No Intruders or cops were harmed in the making, but several pizzas and a lot of booze got fucked up real bad.

All the actors and extras in the video are fans that responded to an Instagram casting call! Thanks everyone! It was directed by Bobby Makar with assistance from Chris Norman, and we're stoked on it!
Cool!'"

Masked Intruder will tour the UK with Me First and The Gimme Gimmes later this month.

CAROUSEL KINGS SHARE NEW SINGLE “DYNAMITE” New Album Available February 10th

With worldwide anticipation at a near boiling point, CAROUSEL KINGS are providing another glimpse of their upcoming album Charm City, through their new single “Dynamite.” Charm City, their Victory Records debut, will be available February 10th, and ‘The Charm Cities Tour’ kicks off March 2nd.

“’Dynamite’ is one of the heavy hitters from the album and definitely one of our favorites to jam live,” eludes front-man David Alexander. “Where most of the album has a positive outlook, this song was written as an expression of the bands distaste and unhappiness about the current state of affairs. The song is a call for all who hear it to look inward for the answers pertaining to how we can possibly change the world we live in.”

Following a few warm-up shows, CAROUSEL KINGS will headline “The Charm Cities Tour,” beginning March 2nd in Clifton, NJ and closing at the Launch Music Conference in Lancaster, PA on April 13th. Support on the entire tour will come from Victory Records label-mates ABANDONED BY BEARS and special guests Bad Case Of Big Mouth. CAROUSEL KINGS will continue hitting the pavement all year long, with exciting summer touring to be announced soon.

LESS THAN JAKE STREAM NEW EP, ‘SOUND THE ALARM,’ AT ALTPRESS.COM; NEW RECORD OUT FEB 3RD ON PURE NOISE RECORDS

Influential Gainesville punk band Less Than Jake are back with a new EP, Sound The Alarm, that’s due out on February 3rd via Pure Noise Records. Today, the band has partnered with AltPress.com to stream the record in its entirety. Fans can also pre-order the record now at http://smarturl.it/LTJ.

“Right when you get your footing, and you get a foothold, that's when your life flips upside down. That's the world we live in sometimes, where calm turns into chaos and we have to push forward to gain some clarity. These seven songs could be the soundtrack to that passing moment, from calm to chaos back to clarity. We continue to push forward as a band, and mix everything we learned along the way into these tracks. You learn from history or are doomed to repeat the mistakes is what someone said and that is a truth on everything we do in this world. Sound The Alarm has Roger Lima at the helm again as was Jason Livermore from Blasting Room mixing and this release feels like a good continuing arc from our last full length See The Light. We keep refining what the modern LTJ is.” - Vinnie Fiorello (drums)

New Found Glory new album 'Makes Me Sick' due out April 28

New Found Glory have officially announced their new album, Makes Me Sick, to release April 28 via Hopeless Records.

The band will also unveil a new single, "Happy Being Miserable," on Feb. 16.

Guitarist Chad Gilbert says:

"Lyrically, this album looks at our culture and where we’re at—even in ourselves. We live in a place where people, ourselves included, spend so much time pointing the finger at others. They point at everything else they want to fix with the world, but they never really point at themselves. This album is more vulnerable, but it’s a different kind of vulnerability and honesty than our other records. Musically, we’ve found this sort of freedom because of our fans and their loyalty to us over the years. We use this juxtaposition between our most accountable lyrics and our most fun music."

SWEDISH ROCK BAND IMMINENCE TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM, ‘THIS IS GOODBYE,’ ON MARCH 31ST; WATCH THE TITLE TRACKS NEW VIDEO NOW!

Swedish alternative rock/metal band Imminence will release their hotly anticipated new album, This Is Goodbye, on March 31st via SharpTone Records. The band has debuted a powerful new video for the record’s title track “This Is Goodbye,” which has created a firestorm of buzz for it’s release.

Watch "This Is Goodbye" below:

Eddie Berg, singer of IMMINENCE, comments:

"The new album is about the prowess of leaving something behind in order to make room for something else. It can be anything from relationships, pride, reason, fears or faiths, a use or abuse. It symbolizes the sacrifices we make for our ambitions and emotions. For Imminence, it is also a direct reference to the changes we've gone through as a band and lifting the restrictions of genre definitions to create something out of pure passion and inspiration. The lyrical themes spring from my soul, my most inner thoughts and struggles and the emotive prison I built for myself."

Fronted by vocalist and video director Eddie Berg, guitarist Harald Barrett, drummer Peter Hanström and bass player Max Holmberg; Imminence was formed in Trelleborg/Malmö in 2010 and has over the years become one of Sweden's most promising acts with a diverse sound and universe, embracing everything from metalcore to acoustic music. Founded by Eddie and Harald when they were just teenagers, the band grew organically with a constantly expanding fan-base from all over the world while being a highly active touring band in Europe since 2014.

After almost two years of writing, Imminence took a huge leap forward. Emerging from their previous “post-metalcore” sound, the band fears no boundaries or limits, valiantly breaking new ground and taking the alternative scene to the next level with their new album This Is Goodbye.

FIRST BLOOD PREMIERE NEW SONG, “THESE ARE THE RULES,” VIA UPSETMAGAZINE.COM NEW ALBUM, ‘RULES,’ OUT FEB 10TH

Vicious metal-edged hardcore heroes First Blood have premiered a new track, “These Are The Rules,” today with UpSetMagazine.com. The track is featured on the band’s forthcoming album, Rules, on February 10th via Pure Noise Records. Fans can pre-order the record http://smarturl.it/FBRULES.

Stream “These Are The Rules” now at UpSetMagazine.com.

Talking on new track vocalist Carl Schwartz says:

“This song serves as a 'preamble' for the concept of this album. Rules. Who sets the rules? What rules? Why should we care? Well, these are the rules that control nearly every aspect of our lives. We serve. We sacrifice. We corrupt. We pollute. We hate. We torture. We oppress. And we kill. But it's okay, because positions of power say it's okay. Public opinion (or lack thereof) says it's okay. Laws of the state say it's okay. Accept these terms and everything will be okay. Dare to question them and you will pay. These are the rules... This is reality. Some things we might never change, but at the very least I say, "Don't stop fighting for what you believe if you're to rise up from this hate.”

On their first album in seven years, First Blood has come out swinging with a savage 3rd full-length record, Rules. Produced by recording mastermind Will Putney at Graphic Nature Studios (formerly known as The Machine Shop) in Belleville, NJ, Rules features 12 tracks of the band's hardest, yet most inward-looking material to date.

FALLING IN REVERSE TO RELEASE COMING HOME ON APRIL 7

Falling in Reverse have announced April 7, 2017 as the release date for their fourth album Coming Home (Epitaph). The band has also shared the track listing, album artwork, and the new song "Loser."

The follow-up to 2015's Just Like You, Coming Home finds the band exploring its sound, all the while retaining the signature ethos and aesthetic that has won the love and loyalty of its incredibly invested fans and followers.

Listen to the atmospheric title track, released in late December:

Coming Home is available for pre-order here.

Frontman Ronnie Radke previously told Alternative Press that the album is:

"A huge left turn. It sounds like nothing we've ever done. Every song is very vibey. There's more feeling in it. We're challenging ourselves now more than we ever have in the weirdest ways possible, because you would think writing the craziest solo or riffs would be the challenging part. But the challenging part is trying to stick to a theme and not go all over the place like we would normally do."

Falling in Reverse will embark on a busy touring schedule in support of the album. The band is currently on tour with Issues and Motionless in White.

SAVE FERRIS DEBUT, “NEW SOUND,” FROM UPCOMING EP, ‘CHECKERED PAST’

Influential Orange County ska-punk band SAVE FERRIS has premiered their first new song in 15 years today at AltPress.com. The track, “New Sound” (feat. Neville Staple of The Specials) is featured on the band’s highly anticipated EP, Checkered Past, which will be released on February 10th via WITHYN Records. Fans can pre-order the EP now at http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/saveferris.

Stream “New Sound” now at AltPress.com.

“I’m so excited for everyone to hear the first Save Ferris single in almost 15 years and just in time for our US tour! It’s an honor to have my idol and friend Neville from the Specials on this one. And this is just the start! Welcome to the new sound!” - Monique Powell

A new start indeed! Save Ferris’ new EP marks a new era for the band as they start the next chapter of their storied career. Led by the inimitable frontwoman Monique Powell, Save Ferris is firing on all cylinders now with a renewed focus and rejuvenated spirit, a vibe that can be heard throughout the band’s new 5 song record.

"Recording our new 5 song EP, "Checkered Past", with John Avila (Oingo Boingo, Mariachi El Bronx, Reel Big Fish) was truly a fun and easy experience. John's comforting personality and his open heart, free of judgement, made every day in the studio something we all looked forward to. In tribute to the first Save Ferris album, this is also a 5 song EP. "Introducing Save Ferris", is my favorite album of ours. Knowing that, I wanted to capture that young spirit once again on a song or two on this new EP. There are 5 relatively different songs on this EP, each one representing the different musical personalities of Save Ferris. A little punk, a bunch of ska, both old and new, some sugary pop, a bit of my youth and a little edge. To top it off, "new sound" represents the future for Save Ferris. I'm hoping everyone likes this new EP, our first in over 15 years, as it was written just for you. Enjoy!" - Monique Powell

The band is currently offering fans, via a PledgeMusic campaign, a unique VIP experience that includes a soundcheck party, q&a, meet & greet and photos with the band, as well as signed CDs, Tote Bags, Signed Certificates, Pin Sets, Signed Photos, Listening Party and more.
