Catch Fire Deliver ‘A Love That I Still Miss’

Nottingham Pop Punks Unleash Sophomore EP & Prepare For Release Shows

Nottingham Pop Punk Quintet Catch Fire have today released their sophomore EP ‘A Love That I Still Miss’ via Rude Records.

“ALTISM is a collection of the most heartfelt songs we’ve ever written, that represent things we’ve felt and experiences we’ve had had to endure over the past year in our personal lives,” reveals frontman Miles Kent, continuing: “There are a lot of themes covered in the EP, stretching from jealousy, anxiety, anger, sadness, happiness, all the way to love and hate. This collection of songs is a product of personal discomfort, sadness and anxiety for the most part, and we wanted to channel all these negative feelings into something that could potentially be the cure to someone else’s despair. We hope these songs can help anyone in some way, big or small.”

n support of the release, the band will also play 2 dates to showcase the new material: 25th March at Nottingham’s Rock City and 26th March at London’s Thousand Island, London.

Catch Fire, completed by guitarists Tim Bell and Neal Arkley, drummer Ash Wain and bassist Joseph Ryan Askew released their debut EP The Distance I Am From You via Rude Records in early 2016, after forming from the ashes of local heroes Layby. For A Love That I Still Miss, the quartet immediately began writing, feeling less pressure than on their debut:

“We knew we had to put something out that people would notice so that we could get our foot in the door. I’m not saying that we’ve gotten complacent now, as it’s quite the opposite. What I am saying, is that now we have a few people’s attention, we show them what we’re about and we definitely feel as if these songs say more about us than anything we’ve released before.”

Ready to lay down their demos, the guys entered the studio for 3 weeks, opting to work with Myroslav Borys at Jigsaw Audio, having developed a good chemistry with the producer during the recording for December 2016’s cover of Alessia Cara’s Wild Things. The resultant 5 tracks tackle a myriad of emotions, ideal for fans of emo-tinged pop punk, with intricate guitars and driving rhythm, evoking Trash Boat and Knuckle Puck. As a parting though, Kent declares: “We did work our asses off writing it. We had our fair share of disagreements on parts, and went over different sections more than we needed to, but we knew it was just because we didn’t want to release anything less than perfect to us. This EP is the best we have to offer. We just hope people like it.”

A Love That I Still Miss Tracklisting: 1. Poise | 2. Curfew (ft. Wes Thompson) | 3. Sylvester | 4. Lucid | 5. Reality | 6. Guilty As Charged | 7. Thin Ice | 8. Sinking

SURPRISE! Northlane Release New Album "Mesmer" Via Rise Records

Northlane have just released their surprise fourth album Mesmer worldwide!

Mesmer appeared with no forewarning on digital services at 8am AEDT and is also available on CD, LP, and tape from all good music stores.

Mesmer, Northlane's beautiful fourth album, is a triumph – the band's most organic yet precise album yet. it covers familiar topics but renders them in a new way, at once paying heed to the band's heaviest roots and looking forward to an unwritten future.

Recorded throughout September 2016 in New Jersey with acclaimed producer David Bendeth (Bring Me The Horizon, Paramore, A Day To Remember), this is Northlane's defining statement. And presented directly to their fans in such an unorthodox and exciting manner, Mesmer will echo worldwide through 2017 and long beyond.

Northlane have released the following statement explaining why they released Mesmer unannounced.

"Through determination, hard work, sacrifice, and a bit of luck, we are able to travel the world taking our music to fans both old and new. We're able to spend time crafting the music we want to hear with the benefit of not having to leave the studio early to go and work a job. To an artis,t these are real luxuries. We appreciate them more than anything and we're in the position of being able to do this because of you — our incredible fans who continue to support us. You free us to be the artists we want to be.

"This is our way of rewarding our fans for everything they've given us. What our music means to you is what it means to us. Art is an experience, and to us it reserves no room for competition, and the only accolade that matters to us is the place this holds in your heart.

"Releasing Mesmer in this way has been right for us at this moment in time. We have grown immeasurably as people and as a band through the toughest recording process we've ever endured. We've been tested every step of the way and have come out the other side with something we are truly proud of. We didn't want to keep it from you a moment longer than we had to. We felt we owed it to this album to try and think creatively about every aspect of the way people would experience Mesmer, like a gift from us to you that is being unboxed. We wanted to make everyon's discovery of this moment special."

We are proud to announce that our new album Mesmer is out now worldwide as a CD, LP, tape and via digital services. It is a true pleasure to be able to deliver something as important as a new album directly to our fans first and foremost. Mesmer, which was produced by David Bendeth, includes “Intuition” and “Citizen”. We will very shortly be explaining a lot more about the album and answering your questions on Facebook Live.
LISTEN TO MESMER NOW: https://northlane.lnk.to/Mesmer
You can now listen to the album on all streaming services worldwide, and you can “Post-Order” our album bundles all over the world including Vinyl, Limited Edition Merchandise, CDs, Cassette and Downloads. Meanwhile, stores in Europe, UK, North America and Australia will also have it available.
All purchase options, including physical mail order, download, merch and streaming are available here: https://northlane.lnk.to/Mesmer
So why did we choose to release our new album in this way?
Through determination, hard work, sacrifice and a bit of luck, we are able to travel the world taking our music to fans both old and new. We’re able to spend time crafting the music we want to hear with the benefit of not having to leave the studio early to go and work a job. To an artist these are real luxuries. We appreciate them more than anything and we’re in the position of being able to do this because of you - our incredible fans who continue to support us. You free us to be the artists we want to be.
Because of this, we have decided to put out this record in a way that means our fans will hear it the second they know it exists. You can stream Mesmer for free right now if you want to. If you want to support us even more, all the new LP variants and merch are all available for purchase immediately. No one has to wait, and if you’re buying direct from us or our label, you don’t have to purchase an expensive bundle because everything is available separately.
This is our way of rewarding our fans for everything they’ve given us. What our music means to you is what it means to us. Art is an experience, and to us it reserves no room for competition, and the only accolade that matters to us is the place this holds in your heart.
Releasing the album in this way has had its disadvantages. We were warned that it was going to be a difficult thing to pull off, and that it could mean the album won’t chart as well or get covered enough by the media. But for us, that didn’t matter. We’ve had some awesome chart results (#1 and #3), been nominated for and won awards, and we’ve been in plenty of magazines around the world. It’s all great and flattering, but for us nothing compares to the feeling we get from connecting with our fans who love and respect our art. To share in that with them is everything to us, and when it came down to it - it was the one thing that mattered the most.
Releasing Mesmer in this way has been right for us at this moment in time. We have grown immeasurably as people and as a band through the toughest recording process we’ve ever endured. We’ve been tested every step of the way and have come out the other side with something we are truly proud of. We didn’t want to keep it from you a moment longer than we had to. We felt we owed it to this album to try and think creatively about every aspect of the way people would experience Mesmer, like a gift from us to you that is being unboxed. We wanted to make everyone’s discovery of this moment special.

MEXICO’S AVANT-GARDE PUNK BAND DESCARTES A KANT TO RELEASE ‘VICTIMS OF LOVE PROPAGANDA’ ON MAY 12TH

Watch The New Video For “Motion Picture Dream Boy” NOW!

Descartes a Kant, one of Guadalajara, MX’s most imaginative and avant-garde bands, is set to release their American debut album, Victims of Love Propaganda, on the highly-regarded Los Angeles, CA-based independent label, Cleopatra Records on May 12th.

Today, Descartes a Kant has debuted a video for a brand-new song called “Motion Picture Dream Boy,” which was directed by gore extraordinaire film director, makeup effects artist and longtime friend of the band Gamaliel de Santiago Ruvalcaba. Watch the video now:

The band’s third studio album, Victims of Love Propaganda, was recorded/produced in Chicago by legendary producer Steve Albini (Nirvana, Pixies, Breeders). It’s a concept album that questions all aspects of modern love through a series of dark tales of woe, limerence, break-up and grief. The band calls it an, "emotional porn album." The story’s narrative is represented by two characters that personify the face of a modern love relationship. It charts the couple’s mutable love as it transitions from enchantment, fascination and intensity to a state of indifference, disconnection, and dissolution throughout the ten-song cycle. Unlike other so called “break up” albums, any sense of resolution is left to the minds of the listeners.

On working with their new label Cleopatra Records, the band states, “We are thrilled to be releasing the record on Cleopatra, both because it's our first release outside of Mexico and they've been incredibly supportive. Also, we still can't believe we got to record this with Steve Albini, who is a hero of ours."

Descartes a Kant has garnered an international following, playing their avant-garde punk-metal-shoegaze-noise hybrid all over the world (including Russia) with bands like Sonic Youth, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Melvins and Slayer – whose former drummer, Dave Lombardo asked the band to open for his new band, Dead Cross’s debut California tour in 2015.

Their stage show – a chaotically-orchestrated combination of steam punk, classical ballet and grande guignol theatre – steals the senses and gives the audience the idea that anything can happen at any time. To date, the band has released two albums, Paper Dolls in 2007 and Il Visore Lunatique in 2012. The band has also earned three awards at the Indie-O-Music Awards in Mexico: Best New Band in 2008 and Best Experimental Album and Best Live Act in 2013.

Descartes a Kant are set to tour the world in support of their new creation, complete with a new stage show and new costume designs. It promises to be a wild trip.

Victims Of Love Propaganda  Tracklisting:
1. You A**F*cked My Heart
2. Motion Picture Dream Boy
3. Until The Day We Die
4. Suppertime Rules
5. Sérotonine
6. Lovely Lips
7. Crime Scene
8. All Monsters Are Human
9. Apricot Dreams
10. The Science of Break-up

Northlane Unveil New Standalone Song "Citizen"

Northlane have released their new stand-alone single "Citizen" today. "Citizen" was recorded by David Bendeth (Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember, Paramore) at his studio in New Jersey. The video for "Citizen" was filmed by Jason Eshragian who has previously worked with Northlane on the "Intuition" and "Impulse" videos.

"'Citizen' is a song that was written about the First World police state and our willingness to live under the watch of those in power, for their means, while those who blow the lid on it suffer," explains Northane guitarist Josh Smith. "Writing this one was quite a mission, we went through five completely different sets of lyrics and the final incarnation of the song was the eighth revision. It took a lot of work but we are proud of it and beyond excited to share it with you all."

"Citizen" follows on from their previous track "Intuition," which was revealed as a surprise gift for fans during their headline set at UNIFY 2017. Northlane will continue to hit festival stages throughout 2017 with appearances on the main stage at Download Festival (UK) and Hellfest (France). The band will also play at Vainstream Rockfest (Germany), Jera On Air (Netherlands), Graspop (Belgium), Dissonance Festival (Italy), Rock For People (Czech Republic), Resurrection (Spain) Hammersonic (Indonesia) as well as Big Pineapple Music Festival here in Australia.

LOATHE DEBUT VIDEO FOR “IT’S YOURS”; NEW ALBUM, ‘THE COLD SUN,’ OUT APRIL 14TH

Liverpool based experimental collective of 5, LOATHE, are very pleased to announce the release of their latest video and single “It’s Yours.”

“We wanted a song to bridge the gap between what we thought would be expected and what we intended to do with the record. With ‘It's Yours’, we went about the creative process a bit differently to how we usually do and it fell into place as the track that connects the dots." - Loathe’s Erik Bickerstaffe.
"Visually, we brought ourselves into the spotlight for the video, providing a face for the name. Zak worked very closely with us when it came to perfecting every detail within the aesthetic and we're extremely pleased with what we achieved.” - Loathe’s Erik Bickerstaffe.

LOATHE recently announced their highly-anticipated debut album, The Cold Sun, which will be released via SharpTone Records on April 14th

If you missed the video for new track “Dance On My Skin,” you can check it out here:

SharpTone has launched a pre-order for The Cold Sun, which can be found here: www.loatheasone.com

If you pre-order the album digitally via iTunes, you’ll receive “Dance On My Skin” and “It’s Yours” as instant grat tracks.

LOATHE are a sedulous collective of 5, formed in the UK‘s industrial and artistically acclaimed port-city, Liverpool. Their debut record The Cold Sun signifies a forceful and shrewd testimony. The quintet nail their colours to the mast with this resolute mission statement; an ode to the times we’re living in and the murky future that we all find ourselves faced with.

The Cold Sun is a concept record; a compelling 35 minute long meandering into the depths of a dark, post-apocalyptic tale. The record follows the adjacent timeline of two protagonists, who exist during a dystopian future, stricken by tragedy and the ever looming apocalypse.

“Our writing process varies from song to song, but usually it takes one of us to have the initial vision for what we want to create. We then each add our own personal input which completes the piece,“ states Shayne Smith, when asked about the quintet’s approach to their craft.

For The Cold Sun, LOATHE travelled to Glow In The Dark Studios in Atlanta, Georgia to record under the watchful eye of producer Matt McClellan (Underoath, The Devil Wears Prada, Being As An Ocean...).

The result is a highly accomplished and enigmatic chronicle, an undoubtedly passionate oeuvre brimming with technical precision, sinister ambience and bitter bile. LOATHE offer a complex sonic architecture which weaves together post-punk, hardcore, heavy electronics, djent and deathcore with a side of prog... melding their sonic threads into an anguished and searingly surreal entity which reels you deep into the abyss.

VISTA RELEASES “THE KILL” COVER VIDEO

“Suddenly, VISTA could become a huge deal. Are you sure you want to be late to the party?” - Revalt

Fresh off the heels of the release of their latest single “Henchmen,” anthem rock band VISTA have released the fourth video, a cover of 30 Seconds To Mars’ “The Kill,” in their acoustic YouTube series, “The Stripped Sessions.” The first three released videos, all single-guitar versions of their original tracks, including their latest single “Henchmen,” showcase dueling vocals and a compelling, infectious share of lead vocalist Hope and guitarist Greg’s personalities. As the series successfully pushes VISTA in a fierce direction, they have been simultaneously recording their second EP, due out this summer.

Coined one of Rock Sound’s “On The Radar” bands just months after their resurrection, VISTA combines long-loved arena influences to create and define a new, modern-day sub-genre in the alternative scene: anthem rock. The duo has continued to spread their infectious energy through their latest single, “Henchmen,” a strong message of unity to anyone who has felt oppressed in modern society. To coincide with the release of “Henchmen,” VISTA recently supported Fueled By Ramen artist Against The Current at Irving Plaza, recently announced their "Weekend Warriors Tour," have been featured in 2 Alternative Press articles, and are in rotation on idobi Radio.

THE TOSSERS RELEASE ‘ERIN GO BRAGH’ LYRIC VIDEO - Share The Video And Win A $250 Shopping Spree At Amazon

With their new album, Smash The Windows, in-stores now, THE TOSSERS have released a lyric video for the politically charged anthem ‘Erin Go Bragh.’ “Our voices resound through the halls of the town, all the way to the President’s door,” lashes vocalist Tony Duggins on the current policies of American immigration. “For me personally and others in the band, we have grandparents from Ireland. We grew up in Chicago, which has attracted a lot of workers from all over the world, not just the Irish, but Italian, Polish, Mexican immigrants and more. It’s always been a part of our lives. The footage in the video is important because it has a lot to do with the song - it reflects what is going on in this country.”

“People always say that America is a country of immigrants, which it is,” adds guitarist Mike Pawula. “But at the core of that idea is the sense that every culture that comes to this country will adjust to a new life while trying to preserve some of its heritage and history. And some people have been fortunate to do so and can still celebrate the traditions their families once did.”

If you missed your chance to win THE TOSSERS exclusive merch package at Paste Magazine this week,
THE TOSSERS and Victory Records are giving you a chance to win a $250 gift card to Amazon.com.

All you have to do is share the ‘Erin Go Bragh’ lyric video on the Victory Records Facebook page and you’ll automatically be in the running!

Debuting at #23 on Billboards Heatseekers Chart, Smash The Windows is an anthemic and sometimes rollicking, rowdy journey through Irish American culture coupled with melancholy overtures inspired by devotion and pride. It is truly an album and piece of work that fits America’s current socio-economic state of affairs and will strike a chord with many lovers of genres ranging from country, punk, rock and traditional Irish folk.

Tonight, THE TOSSERS wrap-up the first leg of their tour behind Smash The Windows with their annual holiday show at Chicago’s Metro. Stay tuned for more tour dates to be announced soon.

"This record feels like the beginning of our band. The first chapter and the reason why we started playing music. It's really the template to our future. Writing and recording it all ourselves gave us so much insight to who we are and what kind of band we want to be. I think when writing a record, the most important thing to accomplish is to have everyone feel proud and a part of the project. We couldn't be more excited to release it and it was a pleasure to make. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we enjoyed making it." - Chris LoPorto (vocals/guitar)

Can’t Swim will kick off a tour with labelmates Four Year Strong in support of Fail You Again later this month. Dates are listed below.

TO THE WIND PREMIERES NEW VIDEO FOR “CAN’T STAY (MY LOVE)”

Hardcore/metal band To The Wind has teamed up with NewNoiseMagazine.com today to debut a brand new music video for their song “Can’t Stay (My Love).”

“We could've made videos for every song because they all have significant meaning and we love them all. But, we chose this one in particular because the lyrics express feelings about touring year after year consistently. In the beginning touring is all I wanted to do because i felt that it was all I had. I thought it was the only thing that made me happy. In the last couple years something slightly changed. As I grew i started having regrets in my personal life. I feel there is a lot I've missed out on because of the constant traveling, but at the same time i feel very accomplished because of all the things I've had the chance to do and see. I wrote most of this song while we were in Toronto recording the record. A lot of my raw emotions were invested into the song. I was very vulnerable and didn't have much time to filter anything out. This song to me is kind of my anthem to all different aspects of my life both on and off the road.” - Tanner Murphy (vocals)

“Can’t Stay (My Love)” is featured on To The Wind’s latest album, The Brighter View, which is available now from Pure Noise Records at http://smarturl.it/ToTheWindnw. The record follows the band’s critically heralded 2014 full-length Block Out The Sun & Sleep. The Brighter View was recorded by Derek Hofman and produced by Andrew Neufelf of Comeback Kid and features vicious, standout tracks like “Don’t Wanna Know,” “Temporary Escape” and “The Brighter View.”

Like Pacific frontman remembers his late grandmother in new, emotional music video

Like Pacific frontman Jordan Black ditched the original lyrics to "22A" right before it was recorded and re-wrote them.

"While recording [Distance Like You Asked], I finished up a session for the night and headed out with some friends," Black explains. "I received a phone call around midnight from my father. He had told me that my grandmother, who I had lived with for the last five years, had passed away. This prolonged the recording process by a few weeks. I was very distraught and carried a lot of blame for not being there for her. I decided to scratch the lyrics to one of the last songs we were recording and re-wrote them—something I never wanted to do, but, now, I feel much better about going through with it. As much as I hate the fact that I had to write this song, I kept it very personal, but open for people to connect with on different levels, whether it's a friend or a family member," Black says. "I hope the video does justice, to show how I feel everyday." -Jordan Black

THE TOSSERS PREMIERE VIDEO FOR “SMASH THE WINDOWS” New Album, Smash The Windows, Coming March 3rd

THE TOSSERS are proud to deliver the video for “Smash The Windows,” the bar-brawling title song from their upcoming album available March 3rd. Led by the gritty voice of Tony Duggins, the song authentically captures THE TOSSERS’ blue-collar bluster and storytelling.

Beginning next week in Ferndale, MI, THE TOSSERS will travel the US in support of Smash The Windows, with an East Coast excursion before their annual headlining show at Chicago’s Metro on March 17th. CAN’T SWIM STREAM NEW TRACK, “QUITTING,” AT UPSETMAGAZINE.COM; NEW ALBUM, ‘FAIL YOU AGAIN,’ OUT MARCH 10TH VIA PURE NOISE RECORDS

New Jersey rock band Can’t Swim has premiered another track, “Quitting,” taken from their incredible debut album, Fail You Again, which will be released on March 10th with Pure Noise Records.

Quitting came together in a quite peculiar way," says frontman Chris LoPorto.  "I had the first part of the song written for a while but when I showed the band they thought it needed a more anthemic ending. We were already in the studio at the time so I walked into the other room to try and write some lyrics for it. I had been recording vocals all day, so the microphone was accidentally left on. When I walked back into the room to show the guys my progress, the mic picked up the conversation, and if you listen closely we put that exact clip in the bridge of the song. It’s one of my favourite songs off our new record cause we all sang on it and we all were apart of the writing progress. I like that it’s a change of pace from the rest the songs and gives us another dynamic to explore when we play live."

With each release, Can’t Swim continues to evolve, showcasing a level of talent and creativity that cuts through the noise and monotony. As heard on their newly released single, “We Won’t Sleep,” the band finds their groove blending alternative rock influences with an emotive sensibility. The track is a strong representation of the record’s strength and an incredible example of what fans can expect from the album.

“Fail You Again is our first record as a band. I think it’s a good interpretation of what we want to accomplish with our music. We recorded it all ourselves so the process felt very close to home. I’d like to think the extra work we put in really shows on the songs and people can tell how important this was to us. We looked at it as a template of sound for future releases, so we we’re sure to explore a wide array of tones and vibes throughout. It’s an honor to make music with these guys and I can’t wait for people to hear what we made.” - Chris LoPorto (vocals/guitar)

News of the upcoming album also comes with the unexpected addition of a new member for Can’t Swim. In the making of the new record, the band switched around instruments and enlisted the services for the incredibly talented drummer Andrea Morgan, who rounds out the current lineup with LoPorto (vocals/guitar), Danny Rico (guitar), Greg McDevitt (bass) and Mike Sanchez (guitar).

“Once we finished our new record, we sat in a room and started to hash out the new songs live. We quickly realized we needed a third guitar player to do these songs justice. Danny (our former drummer) was so involved in the writing and recording of the guitar parts, it made a lot of sense to have him do it. A dear friend from back home was the first we thought of for the spot. We contacted her immediately and asked her if she wanted to jam. After the first 5 minutes of playing together, my mind was completely made up. We all want the same things out of this band and all want to accomplish the same goals with our music. Other than being a fantastic drummer, she’s a lovely human being and I couldn’t be more pleased to have Andrea on board.” - Chris LoPorto (vocals/guitar)

Can’t Swim will kick off their spring tour in support of Fail You Again later this month, which will include tour dates with Set Your Goals and Four Year Strong.

VISTA ANNOUNCES “THE STRIPPED SESSIONS”

“VISTA are holding their own with ease and “Henchmen” is proof of that. The single is a big, anthemic, and energetic testament to what this band is capable of and we expect the potential to continue paying off as their name rises to the top; a beautiful view indeed.” - Substream Magazine

Fresh off the heels of the release of their latest single “Henchmen,” anthem rock band VISTA have announced their brand new YouTube acoustic series, titled “The Stripped Sessions.” The first released video, a single-guitar version of their 2016 track “Mansions,” gives viewers a strong taste of what the YouTube series will offer: a fresh, bare take on a combination of previously-released VISTA tracks and 1 innovative cover. Showcasing dueling vocals and a compelling image, the series successfully pushes VISTA in a fierce direction as they prepare to create their next EP.

Coined one of Rock Sound’s “On The Radar” bands just months after their resurrection, the self-described anthem rock band is already making waves in the press and on social media. The powerhouse anthem rock band has continued to spread their infectious energy through their latest single, “Henchmen,” a strong message of unity to anyone who has felt oppressed in modern society. To coincide with the release of “Henchmen,” VISTA recently supported Fueled By Ramen artist Against The Current in New York City, and will be releasing their second EP later this Spring.
